International Order of Jurists

Verify a member

Check a member’s card, status and standing.

Every member of the Order carries a card with a QR code. Scanning it opens the member’s record on this website, as kept by the Order at that moment.

Scan the card

Point your phone’s camera at the QR code on the front or back of the card and open the link. The record shows:

  • the member’s status, for example member in good standing, suspended or removed from the Order;
  • the member’s name, photograph, title, membership category and member number;
  • the member’s field of law, specialisations, and where the member practises or is registered;
  • whether the Order has verified the member’s identity, and since when the member has belonged to the Order;
  • the member’s standing: accepted commendations, and any concerns under investigation, upheld concerns, reprimands and sanctions;
  • the date the record was last confirmed, and the moment you checked it.

Records are kept away from search engines and are not listed anywhere on this website. A record can only be reached from the card itself, or from a private link that the member chooses to share.

No card at hand?

If you have the member number and the member’s family name, you can check whether the person is a member of the Order and what the membership status is. For the full record, including standing, ask the member for the card or private link.

13 digits, as printed on the card.

What a record does not show

A record confirms membership of the International Order of Jurists and the details the Order holds. It is not a licence to practise law and not proof of admission to a bar, law society or public register. Where the right to practise matters to you, also check with the competent authority in the member’s jurisdiction.

Doubt about a card? If a card does not open a record, if the record does not match the person, or if someone presents a card you believe is not genuine, please tell the Order. Do not rely on the card until the Order has replied.
